“Green Card” for Espanyol: The Stadium Goes Green with Tenka’s Photovoltaic Modules

The Tenka Solar project at the stadium of Reial Club Deportiu Espanyol de Barcelona, located in Cornellà-El Prat, represents a significant advancement in renewable energy within the sports sector.

The Stage Front Stadium, inaugurated in 2009 with a capacity for 40,500 spectators, is known for being a modern and functional structure, rated with four stars, that hosts both sports matches and events. In line with its history and philosophy, Espanyol has chosen Tenka Solar as a partner for a new project.

Tenka Solar: Innovation and Sustainability

Tenka Solar is recognized for its excellence in producing high-performance solar panels and its commitment to seeking sustainable solutions. The company, with a global presence, leads in technological innovation in the solar energy field.

The Project

In 2024, Tenka Solar will begin installing 1860 Orion Series VII solar panels of 595 watts at the Stage Front Stadium. These panels are designed to maximize energy efficiency, ensuring high performance and reliability over time. Furthermore, Tenka Solar offers a 30-year warranty on both the quality of the materials and 80% of the power output, ensuring a lasting and reliable solution.

Elecnor, as the installer, and Valle, as the distributor, have participated in the project, contributing their experience and resources to ensure the successful execution of this initiative.

Energy Production and Environmental Benefits

It is estimated that the panels will produce approximately 1.9 GW of energy per year, leading to a saving of about 800 tons of CO2 annually. This represents a significant contribution to reducing the stadium’s carbon footprint.

Economic Benefits and Community Impact

An annual saving of about 200,000 euros in energy costs is anticipated, based on the average energy prices in Spain. This project will not only reduce the stadium’s operating costs but will also serve as an example of sustainability and innovation for the community and the sports sector in general.

A Model of Sustainability in the Sports World

This Tenka Solar project at the Stage Front Stadium is an exemplary model of how solar technology can be integrated into large-scale sports structures, promoting sustainability and offering significant economic and environmental benefits. With this project, Tenka Solar once again demonstrates its commitment to promoting a clean and sustainable energy future.
